Spirit Finding 2020-2021

We took along a special flashlight toy that my son called a "spirit finder." My husband often spoke of Karl Blossfeldt’s work; he used the photographer’s macro plant photographs to teach his first year architecture students about structure and form. Thinking of how Aaron loved Blossfeldt, it felt to me to right to study the temperate rainforest on Vashon. I focused my attention on the forest plants and the light, and tried to locate the place of his spirit.
